Hi.
What you are about to read is a twenty-five thousand word epic dedicated to Studio XD’s gigantic online forum, GAIA Online. It is a completely fictional – albeit humorous – documentation of how the website came into being. The later volumes narrate the divine lives of the admins and aim to teach a few moral lessons along the way. It is all in the sake of good fun and I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing.

Purpose.
I have always been a huge fan of satirical comedy and the Gaia Online Bible hopes to parody just about every religion and Internet stereotype out there. I was also very bored over the span of the two summers (2005 for the Old Testament, 2006 for the New) when I originally wrote the thing and dedicating myself to an assignment such as this certain helped to beat off the tedium. The most important reason for scribing such a lengthy tome was so others could enjoy reading it and it aids to ‘flesh out’ the world that thousands of people spend time in per day. Similar ventures have taken place in the Gaia Community Discussion sub-forum, such as the Veset (which is a totally different religious sect, based on Gaia’s own mythos and multiple gods), Gaian History, Ninja Clans of Gaia, Gaia In Roleplay and Gaian Astrology threads. Although each of the ones listed above have very different ideas about the areas of the site which are hidden, all share the common goal of entertaining the masses.
Information For Outsiders.
If you’re confused by the above section, then allow me to explain the point of this website for the average layman scouting around for something to read. GAIA Online was a forum established in 2003 and since then has attracted millions of visitors. It is also unique amongst its peers, as the site definitely has an Anime focus to it and rode the wave of Okatu fandom that was beginning to sweep the Internet at the time. Amongst the usual selection of posting boards and such, Gaia also features a (somewhat random) storyline to tie the characters in the mythos together. The Gaian Bible is a piece of tongue-in-cheek fanfiction which hopes to intertwine both the strong community elements that are present within the denizens of the forum with the developers and the NPCs they’ve invented. I ask anyone who reads it to simply ‘take it how it is’ – at face-value. I encourage you not to eye this with scepticism, but rather with the same open-minded humour that the community first greeted it with.

Text links on various parts of the site are available from either 100 gold (or $1) a week - quite awesome considering that we already get 10,000 unique views a month. It also makes sense that we accept payment alternatives in both real money or gold, seeing as it is a story about Gaia Online itself. We can also design banners too, with a little extra fee.

Over the years many people have provided inspiration or added directly to the Bible. The more direct of these were PrizeFighterInferno and ensokukitsune, credited for keeping the Old Testament thread alive during its dying days. The second chunk of kudos goes to Giant Eyeball, alias Zen, for his great ‘MOIRA IZ A NAZI!’ signature and attempting to support me during the writing process. This independent site is hosted by wonderful Blogger technology and maintained by myself (Scott Constantine/Melaisis/Autograph) and my partner-in-crime, Dietrich Jeffreys (Dee4leeds). Whilst we both spearhead the project, we’re backed by a great team over at The Three Rs. These include our supporting artists too, whose work will probably be found throughout this novella.
Artists.
We outsource 99% of our art. Usually, we commission most of it specifically but - in the rare case of being let down by such requests - we take from other routes. Whilst we re-host the majority of the work ourselves, we always link to the artist and where we found it (usually Deviant Art). If you wish to donate art to us (in return, we link back) then get in touch. If, for whatever reason, you feel offended by your art appearing on our pages, then do the same.
